New phones are great, but so too can be the fun of reminiscing about old phone technology, such as the landline and answering machines. Leigh Stark joins ABC Brisbane to look at this old tech and where it has gone.
Remember the answering machine or the standard landline phone? You’ve probably replaced both, but you might still recall them.
On August 29, 2022, Pickr’s editor Leigh Stark called into ABC Brisbane Afternoons to talk about the classic landline phone, plus those answering machines all our families used to have. We’ll talk if you can still use them with today’s technology and the NBN, and whether kids today have lost the knack for saying their messages in a succinct way.
About to go live on @abcbrisbane with the lovely @katherinefeeney to talk about answering machines. They existed, but we're not using them so much these days, replaced with voice mail… and some of us don't even check that. Tune in! https://t.co/3qexL1ticS
