Big news from Pickr this week, as our fast technology roundup podcast joins Australia’s biggest podcast network, Podcast One.
We’ve been running our special podcast for a little over a year now, and our site is almost two years old, but we have some pretty big news to share:
As of this week, the Pickr podcast “The Wrap” is joining Southern Cross Austereo’s Podcast One network in Australia, which will see it arrive on more phones, more ears, and get more technology news across to more people.
The Wrap is the first local technology show to arrive on the Podcast One network, and one of the only podcasts to contain its news in a super small amount of time, rounding up what’s happening in the world of tech for the week and usually a review in around five minutes (and usually just under). It joins a solid slate of Australian podcasts, including VR pioneer and technologist Mark Pesce’s “The Next Billion Seconds”, as well as several video game podcasts including Game On AUS, Press Start’s “The Start Cast”, and Forbes’ American “Overworld” podcast.
We’ll still be on Apple Podcasts, Pocket Casts, TuneIn, and a bunch of others, it’s just we’ll be serving the files from Podcast One, and we’re working to make those changes happen ASAP.
It starts this week, so if you’re having problems getting the new episode from this Friday, give us a holler and we’ll take a look at the platform and connections, because we’re working to make this as seamless an experience as it gets.
Podcasts are a big deal to us, too, and as such, Pickr is supporting the science and technology category of the Australian Podcast Awards. There are some amazing podcasts nominated, and while we’re not there, we’re delighted to see such amazing talent in the local podcast scene.
The Wrap will continue every Friday, rounding up the technology news and reviews in the space of five minutes, so you can listen to what’s happened while you order and/or drink your coffee, or anything else you want to do quickly. The Podcast One app will be one place you can find us, as well as on some of the biggest podcast directories, and you’ll find transcripts here for each episode every week.
