Pickr started as a phone comparison website, and if you have a good half an hour, you can hear its editor talk shop with one of the Aussie tech journo greats.
Finding a phone isn’t always easy, and 2017 has made the task of picking a phone even more difficult, thanks in part to how much excellent choice there is.
While much of the hardware is very similar, the features are different between models:
Want the iPhone? Choose between three. The most accurate Android experience? Google has two. Need the best camera? That’s a really tough choice, with the iPhone 8 Plus, Galaxy Note 8, Sony’s Xperia XZ Premium, Huawei’s Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro, and the Google Pixel 2 XL all scoring tremendously well.
Simply put, the choice is not easy this year, and while Pickr’s comparison tool aims to help, sometimes you just need to hear it from the experts.
Good thing then that Pickr joined one of Australia’s tech journalism greats in the past week, guest hosting the Vertical Hold podcast for a week and joining Alex Kidman for a talk on the best phones of the year.
If you have a good 30 minutes to spend listening to tech journalists jabber on which phone does what best, and ultimately what we’d want from smartphone Santa, you’ll hear it.
