Withings refreshes connected blood pressure monitor

How do you evolve the blood pressure cuff? By giving it a bigger screen and help to let you take the right readings.

CES 2025 may well be over, but we’re still sorting through some of what was there, and one of those gadgets is an improvement to the way blood pressure readings is taken.

It’s from Withings who has definitely dabbled in this category before. Previous models have expanded on the blood pressure cuff by giving it a WiFi connection and storing readings in an app, with the most recent model a few years ago including a digital stethoscope that needed more work to be accurate.

Three years on, Withings is updating things, with the latest incarnation aiming to be a little bit different and largely doing away with the slightly problematic digital stethoscope.

Rather, the BPM Vision will provide a large colour screen to explain blood pressure readings, and also point out whether a measurement has been taken correctly. If it hasn’t the screen will provide tutorials to explain how to take a correct blood pressure reading, while the cuff itself will support interchangeable cuffs dependent on the size of an arm.

Interestingly, you’ll also be able to program messages, such as reminders to take medication after you’ve used the blood pressure cuff, or even to log symptoms.

After readings have been taken, they’ll be stored in the app, with the cuff able to track blood pressure readings for up to eight people, similar to the several users available for the Withings smart scales.

Release of this one is something that could take a little bit of time, however, largely thanks to it being a medical device. As such, Australian representatives for Withings told Pickr that “BPM Vision is undergoing regulatory approval, and we hope to have more local information to share in the coming months”.
