If there’s ever a sign you’ve made it, having a Lego set made in your image is it. And Bluey has made it.
Australia’s Bluey has something to celebrate, beyond being one of the best exports in years, beyond being a fantastic show for kids and parents alike, beyond having a stellar soundtrack, and beyond inspiring routines for smart speakers to let you play Keepy Uppy whenever.
It’s about to become Lego.
This week, Lego and BBC announced a partnership to make Bluey Lego, coming in two forms: regular Lego based on Bluey, and younger kid Duplo based on Bingo.
Yes, Australia’s biggest cartoon export is getting a few Lego sets to accompany it, giving your kids something else to do, and potentially you with them.
But while there’s no electronic angle, and neither Bluey, Ludo Studios, BBC, or Lego have revealed what the Bluey Lego sets will look like, you’ll always be able to make your own, such as with these ideas:
- Potentially taking a Bluey minifig collection and also grabbing the Lego Mercedes Benz G 500, renaming it “Bobo”, and going on a road trip
- Finding a Lego Polaroid camera and taking it out with Bluey characters and a plush Bob the Bilby
- Building your own version of a planet in Lego or Duplo for Bingo to have a bounce around while she’s in Sleepytime
Frankly, we’ll be curious to see whether anyone grabs the robotic Lego and makes a robotic Bluey for real life later on, which is a rough date for toys to come out later this year. For real life.
