Computer peripherals rarely smell “nice”, and certainly not after our sweaty hands have used them, but a new mouse has been designed to smell nice as you use it.
If you’ve ever wondered whether your office could smell nicer, and maybe if there was a gadget that could fix that, you probably didn’t look down at your mouse and go “that’ll do”.
And yet that’s exactly what Asus appears to have done, turning to the wireless mouse as a sort of fragrance fixer as a wireless peripheral.
Possibly one of 2025’s strangest gadgets thus far (it is the beginning of the year and CES 2025 clearly didn’t have enough), the Asus Fragrance Mouse is largely what it sounds like: a wireless mouse with a small compartment that can heat oil, much like any other oil diffuser.
It’s possibly convergence on a silly level as Asus builds an ergonomic Bluetooth mouse with a removable vial that can be refilled with different scents and heat scented oil while you move the mouse around.
No word on whether the Fragrance Mouse plans to release its smells in Australia, let alone what the price is, but in terms of weird gadgets, it appears the year has clearly seen one of the first.
