Pour one out for another failed music service, as TikTok ends its music service barely one year after it launched.
Popular music services stick around for a while — Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube Music, even Tidal has a place — but the smaller ones don’t always last quite as long.
Case in point: TikTok’s dalliance with a music service appears to be coming to an end, with November 28 the last day of service for TikTok’s dedicated music app and service.
TikTok’s Music site was updated this week with the news, barely one year after we reviewed the service, which borrowed from the social media service’s approach to swiping left to right in the app.
As for the few who subscribed, refunds will be available through your App Store equivalent provided you’ve paid up beyond November 28, while playlists can be transferred to another platform using provided you do it before the end of October.
TikTok notes that when the final date arrives, all TikTok Music accounts will be deleted, though this shouldn’t affect regular TikTok accounts which aren’t connected.
