The Grinch grumbles his way to Ring replies

The Grinch hated Christmas, the whole Christmas season, but he lent his voice to Ring doorbells, because “fun” is clearly the reason.

If your kids have spent any time calling Santa at one of the 14,000 phone boxes around the country, or if they plan to, you might want to consider making the home a little fun with something seasonal and playful, as well. At least based on what Amazon’s Ring smart doorbell is doing to mark the season.

Ring’s attempts to get into seasonal fun often come around the likes of Halloween, where automatic replies on a Ring doorbell have been spooky, but its latest move could just make your heart grow three sizes bigger… or smaller depending on who you are and where you live.

‘Tis the season for a little fun, it seems, and if you have a Ring doorbell, that’ll include using the voice of a Grinch from Saturday Night Live to answer your door while you’re not there, or at the very least, make Max do it.

There are at least six responses that’ll play when set up, running the messages as Quick Replies when you’re away or too slow to reach the door.

However, they’ll only run until Boxing Day, at which point The Grinch will likely be celebrating begrudgingly after his heart grows for the season.
