You won’t need to wait for Mobile World Congress in February to see the first phone of the year, as Samsung sends word about the first Galaxy Unpacked in January.
It’s only a few days into the new year, and ahead of CES 2024 next week, Samsung is already telling us it can’t wait to show off what it’s been working on.
In what has to be one of the company’s earliest announcements for a phone yet, the first Galaxy Unpacked of the year is set for January 18 in Australia, which will be January 17 in the US, coming from San Jose in California.
We’re expecting this to be largely all about the follow-ups to the S23 and S23 Ultra, covering the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra. And given how AI is expected to be a big trend of 2024 with on-device technologies, you can expect AI to be a big part of what the S24 offers. Samsung has even suggested as much, noting that the unveiling during this Galaxy Unpacked event will provide a mobile experienced powered by AI.
As to what that means, only time will tell, but given that the announcement is only weeks away, if you were thinking of buying a new phone, you might just want to wait.
