A limited edition speaker from B&O is on the way inspired by the energy of the New York skyline.
Something a little different than non-stop Apple this week, as Bang & Olufsen gets another special edition, and one inspired by the look of what both Frank Sinatra and Alicia Keys have sung about.
It’s not going to be an overly inexpensive speaker, but of course nothing B&O makes typically falls into that category. However, it does look to be a rather elegant and schmick speakers, coming in the Beosound 1 New York Edition.
Bang & Olufsen’s new edition of the Beosound 1 isn’t technically a new speaker, and is the same product as the Beosound 1 released in 2016, arriving in a wireless speaker supporting Google Cast, Bluetooth, and AirPlay 2.
The design of the New York Edition is a little different, however, with a colour gradient made using a patent-pending process for B&O, making the aluminium parts undergo several forms of treatment to create the gradient effect means to go from black to aluminium, which the company says captures the energy of the NYC skyline.
Outside of the colour treatment, the Beosound 1 New York Edition is the same as the Beosound 1, meaning it plays music back wirelessly, features a 360 degree sound dispersion system, and five microphones that analyse the sounds to produce better audio, as well as taking commands from the built-in Google Assistant.
It does carry a price of $2750, however, and will only have 1200 units made for this special edition.
B&O stores are expected to get the Beosound 1 New York Edition in Australia in late-September, though you may want to talk to your local store for more information given its limited availability. We’re not sure they’ll all be snapped up so quickly given the price tag, but if this look grabs you, the fact that there are only around a thousand or so may mean that if you do want one, getting in quick.
