Some people love their iPhone so much, only an iPhone-specific gadget will do. This list of gift ideas is for them.
These days, there are two camps for mobile phones in Australia: folks who love their Android and people who love their iPhones. And interestingly, it’s about a 50/50 split.
We’ve covered Android phone owners, but what about everyone else? Let’s dive in.
Gear by Apple
We’ll start this iPhone owners gift guide with gear made by the obvious company: Apple. Given that Apple makes the iPhone, checking out gifts made by the same company could find a gift ideal for that special someone all too easily.
Apple AirTag
Price: from $59
Giving a gift of security for an iPhone owner could well make a lot of sense, and if someone exists in the Apple world, that gift could easily be an AirTag.
One of those security gadgets that only works if you have an iPhone, the AirTag is a handy way to keep tabs on something using the power of crowd-finding, something that happens in the background of every iPhone.
Apple AirPods 4 with ANC
Price: $299
If there’s one gadget we didn’t expect to love this year, it’s a pair of standard AirPods.
Redesigned and rebuilt in just about every way, Apple’s fourth-gen AirPods are different, largely because they’re built for more ears and come packing a new feature if you pay for it: active noise cancellation.
ANC in earbuds has a fairly interesting history, but the TLDR of it all is this: before Apple, no one has managed to get it work very well. Don’t get us wrong, the AirPods Pro are better at noise cancellation, but the AirPods 4 does a tremendous job all the same, making for a great gift for an iPhone owner keen to head out.
Compact and built to travel, the AirPods 4 with ANC are a solid option for iPhone owners looking for a dash of noise cancellation in their life and on trip, especially if they’re not a fan of in-ear tips.
Apple HomePod
Price: $479
One of our favourite speakers still makes for a compelling option for iPhone owners, thanks in part to some of the clever tech Apple has thrown in.
The big HomePod offers spatial audio and room-sensing tech able to improve the audio from the speaker, plus support for Siri and smart home features, as well. Grab two and make the sound that much better.
Accessories and peripherals
Apple sure makes some great gear, but there’s more you might want to consider beyond “what Apple makes”. If you’re buying for someone who loves their iPhone, you might want to check out gadgets, accessories, and peripherals by other manufacturers who also love an iPhone, too.
Journey Loc8 Passport Finder Travel Wallet
Price: $109
An AirTag is one way to keep an iPhone owner secured, but another is to provide security specifically for an aspect of an iPhone owner’s life, such as if they’re going travelling.
And if an iPhone owner is going travelling, you may want to consider a passport holder with tracking technology inside.
That’s what Journey’s Loc8 passport finder wallet is: a passport holder with a battery and a tracker, handy so the person who owns it can find their passport a little easier.
Twelve South Butterfly
Price: $220
A charger made primarily for folks planning on travelling, the Butterfly is about as small as an Apple charger gets.
It’s both a MagSafe charger and an Apple Watch charger, all in a device made to be a small circle made thick, and able to stand on its own. The whole thing is a rather clever design, and a properly compact little thing made to go.
Anker 3-in-1 Cube
Price: $299
Easily one of the most compact desk-based charging stands around, the Anker Cube is a clever way to keep a bedside stand minimalist, including more or less everything an iPhone owner needs in one small cube.
There’s a MagSafe iPhone charger, a small slide-out Apple Watch charger, and a small pad for charging up a pair of wirelessly charged AirPods.
It’s easy and compact, and provides that dose of minimalism you can expect an iPhone owner to love.
Hidrate Spark Pro
Price: $159
Possibly one of the more unusual gadgets you can find, Hidrate’s Spark Pro is a smart water bottle. Yes, you read that right.
It won’t be for everyone, however people keen to track their water drinking could find it useful, because that is exactly what it’s for. A Bluetooth water bottle with a stainless steel design, the Hidrate Spark essentially encourages you to take a sip of water, and logs when you do, so you can see if you’re getting enough water throughout the day.
Ember Travel Mug 2+
Price: $300
Summer in Australia may be the wrong time to think about a hot bevy, but the Ember Travel Mug 2+ will at least get an iPhone owner thinking of what life will be like when the colder months arrive.
They’ll be able to grab a special smart mug (distinct from a smart bottle), pour their favourite workday-friendly bevy in, and know that their phone can control the temperature using an app.
A smart mug is exactly what you might think it is, delivering what is basically a thermos with a heating element your phone can control.
